Three Design Ideas We Loved at Magnolia Market

Earlier this week we took our family on a quick trip down to Waco, TX to see the Magnolia Market. If you have read our blog before, you know we enjoy watching Fixer Upper and love some of their design ideas. When we arrived, we could not believe the crowds on a Monday morning! But we still had a great time—even our kids had fun playing outside on the lawn. Here are three design ideas that we loved.

Herringbone Patterns

I loved the brick herringbone floor in Magnolia Seed and Supply. It’s amazing what a little different pattern can do to make a floor special and unique.

Also, the bakery floor was in a herringbone pattern in wood. This is especially unique—I haven’t seen this done with wood very often!

Check out one of our recent projects where we incorporated a section of herringbone pattern in a kitchen tile backsplash!

Shiplap accents

Of course, could we mention Joanna Gaines without mentioning shiplap? Adding a shiplap accent wall is a fun way to add interest to a space. Whether you paint it white or black, stain it, or just leave it in a natural wood, the Magnolia market had it all.

Open Shelving

Again, this design idea shouldn’t come as a surprise from Joanna Gaines. But open shelves allow you to add a lot of interest to your kitchen by giving you a place to display a variety of colors and textures.

We highly recommend a trip down to Waco to get design inspiration and to have some great family time. Please leave your feedback!
