Project Spotlight: Powder Bath

There are many people in Wichita, KS who have great homes but have outdated rooms in their homes. Our client in east Wichita had a functional, but outdated powder bathroom. Since this powder room was so small, it was a challenge to create a space that really stood out.

Our designer met with our client and determined their vision for the space. She then went to work developing different “vision boards” for the client. She selected a number of samples and selections so that our client could visualize how their powder bath would look. After the final meeting with the client, our designer created a job book for the project manager to ensure that all the selections made would be the selections that went into the job.

Our construction team then went to work building the project. See pictures below of the final product!

We installed a new vanity – Yorktowne historic line with inset doors and drawers.

Inset cabinetry

Custom cabinetry

The historic line of cabinetry is unique in that the door and drawer fronts are inset into the frame of the cabinetry instead of overlaying the frame. It is a great, clean look! Also, the furniture style toe kick with the arch really makes the vanity look more like a piece of furniture rather than a vanity. We also pulled out the middle section of the cabinetry to create more visual interest.

The counter top is Cambria Quartz. We used a rectangular under-mount sink and put a round-over profile on the edge of the counter top.

The details are usually what make or break a project. For instance, lighting; for this project, we chose a really nice wall sconce from Accent Lighting located here in Wichita

The mirror is a brushed gold gold frame from Pottery Barn.

Because the space is so small it was difficult to get a good picture of the flooring. It’s a beautiful, large-format, gray tile that tied in well with the rest of the room.

The paint color on this project was Sherwin Williams Intellectual Grey which went very well with the room and the rest of the house

My favorite part of this bathroom remodel  is the accent tile on the back wall. I really like how the tile and counter top meet with nice clean lines. I think the accent tile gave the room the pop factor the client was looking for!
